Early Settlers of Warren County, Ohio

 

The prime objective of the Early Settlers of Warren County, Ohio, are to identify and honor the memory of the early settlers of the county, and to show the proved pioneer's lasting mark on the county they helped develop by honoring their descendants.

 

The research and work necessary to discovering the pioneers and their descendants is intended to foster and encourage interest in the people who contributed in any way - great or small - to establishing the county, and in its customs, culture, genealogy, and history.

 

Requirements for Membership in the Early Settlers of Warren County, Ohio

 

Current members of the Warren County Genealogical Society (WCGS) may apply for membership in the Early Settlers of Warren County, Ohio.   Applicants must complete an application form, showing their Warren County pioneer ancestor, listing their descent from the pioneer ancestor, and proving their descent and the pioneer ancestor's settlement in the area now known as Warren County between January 1, 1821 to December 31, 1882. 

 

Applications are due by February 1st.
 
The First Families of Warren County, Ohio, application must be accompanied by copies of ALL documents necessary to:

  1. prove the pioneer's settlement in the county between January 1, 1821, and December 31, 1882; and 

  2. prove each step of descent from the pioneer to the applying member. 

 

Proof may NOT be omitted for any step.  These document copies must be either:

  1. copy machine, photo, or other facsimiles of the original document; or

  2. EXACT typed, or hand-printed copies of the original document, certified as "TRUE COPIES" by a court-house official, genealogical librarian, or other official. All proof documents must show their source.

Original applications for membership in the Early Settlers of Warren County, Ohio, must be accompanied by a $25.00 application fee, which covers as many pioneer ancestors who settled in Warren County between January 1, 1821, to December 31, 1882, as the applicant can prove, either at that time, or later.   Please also submit a Five-Generation Pedigree Chart and applicable Family Group Records.
 

In addition to applying to Warren County's lineage society, please consider applying for membership in the Ohio Genealogical Society Settlers and Builders or the Ohio Genealogical Society Century Families of Ohio.

 

Early Settlers Pioneers and Early Settlers Descendants

 

These are lists of Early Settlers Pioneers and Early Settlers Descendants who are shown in the Warren County Genealogical Society records.  These people have been thoroughly researched by a descendant of the listed ancestor which proves their relationship to the individual and documentation that shows the indicated pioneer ancestor was in Warren County, Ohio, between January 1, 1821, and December 31, 1882.  This is not a comprehensive list of every person who may have been in the county during that time, only a list of people who have been researched and submitted.  If you have an ancestor who was in Warren County between January 1, 1821, and December 31, 1882, and would like their name to be added to this list, please submit an application as described above.
